Apple CEO Tim Cook said: “In terms of generative AI, which, I’d guess, is your focus, we have a lot of work going on internally as I’ve alluded to before. Our MO, if you will, has always been to do work and then talk about work and not to get out in front of ourselves. And so, we’re going to hold that to this as well. But we’ve got some things that we are incredibly excited about that we’ll be talking about later this year.”Apart from this, Cook did not offer any further details on Apple’s use of AI. He also didn’t disclose which devices or platforms it will come to.
According to a report by Android Authority, the iPhone is expected to be at the center of Apple’s AI efforts. The report claims that codes in iOS 17.4 suggest that Siri will be able to use AI for summarisation, smart reply suggestions in Messages.
Apple is also likely to use AI across multiple apps like Apple Music, Pages, and Keynote. The company is even reportedly testing different AI models. Some of these models will be able to run on-device while others are expected to rely on the internet.
